This was written for the film Romeo Is Bleeding, which explains why the opening lines are:
He knows that he cant have her but still loves her to the death. I think it's a really bittersweet song of yearning where the man is crazy in love for the woman to the point it hurts but shes had enough of him and he knows this. The guy was in love, basically in a perfect relationship, and then he goes ahead and fucks everything up by cheating.Īnd the two girls are friends, by the looks of it. As Jesus is his main enemy, Satan wants to take his place as once used to be.ĩth p: Tries to convince God to forget the past mistakes and make a new world where he will serve again as it used to be once. Justifies himself saying he's just a man.Ħth p: This section he talks about Jesus and his close relation to the father. This is really a religious song inspired by Satan to God.įirst 2 p: Romeo is Satan that ruined the relatioship with God, and since then everything went wrong for him.ģrd p: He used to praise to God but now he's not good anymoreĤrd p: Promises to love God to avoid the judgement in a new relationship.ĥth p: Remainds his old life in heaven and his unforgiven sin, and ads some blasphemies to god. I would go into more detail but I don't want to spoil the ending for those who haven't read the play yet. The line "I'll be there, till the stars don't shine." basically references the common line that ties in with fate that is through-out the story, the stars represent a persons fate, when their star doesn't "shine" then that obviously means that fate has deemed their end. From there the song dates everything that happens in the story prior this scene. In the first line " This Romeo is bleeding, but you can't see his blood" refers to when Romeo kills himself over his beloved one's 'death', meanwhile Juliet is un-aware. I wouldn't say it was about a man who cheated on his lover because even though Romeo did love a girl named Rosaline, he got over her in a heartbeat when he met Juliet. Its told in the perspective of Romeo and the song talks about some of the major parts of the play. It's obviously about the tragedy love story Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. So many guys (and girls) have been in the same boat, which is why I think people can relate to this song so much. But I still love her and always will.Īnd I think that is what this song is about.
I could never ever take her back because I know those differences will always be there. I had a great romance once, but we just had too many differences for it to work out.
He was madly in love with a girl, and somewhere along the lines the relationship just didn't work out, ending with the girl leaving him.Īnd although their relationship is now over, the guy still loves her. I don't think its necessarily that the guy cheated. Jon said it on the "This left feels right concert" Jon and richie are one of the best song writing duos in the history of music. We'll find a place where the sun still shines I'll wish I was him 'cause those words are mineīut baby if you give me just one more try When he says the words you've been needing to hear When he holds you close, when he pulls you near When you say your prayers try to understand What I'd give to run my fingers through your hair Some that made us laugh, some that made us cry And I'll be there forever and a day alwaysĪnd I know when I die, you'll be on my mind
